President Rhodes has asked that B47HA members with 47s send in articles and pics of their efforts to introduce a new generation to the Bell 47. As many can testify an act of kindness such as giving a child their ride in a Bell 47 has inspired many individuals to pursue and obtain a pilot's license. The Whirlybirds, our spokesmen, have made this a top mission focus and now we at B47HA are in full support of that mission. Special thanks to Steve Brousseau for taking the lead on this request. Here are the
photos from our EAA Young Eagles, Chapter 1454 (Fitchburg, MA) event
on October 18th, 2008. We had a beautiful day and I had both copters
at work.
I had eight
(seven in photograph) new Bell 47 pilots who had their first experience flying
in a Bell 47.
We had 12 pilots participate; 11 fixed wing, 1 helicopter. Total was 122.
